CCSD Board of Directors

 

 

Board of Directors: Allan MacKinnon, 

 Michael Thompson, Jim Bahringer, Muril Clift, Gail Robinette

Newly elected CCSD Board members Jim Bahringer and Michael Thompson received the Oath of Office December 3, 2010 and will complete their terms in December 2014.

Board members Muril Clift, Allan MacKinnon, and Frank De Micco took office on December 5, 2008 and will complete their terms in 2012. Director De Micco resigned effective November 17, 2011 and Gail Robinette was appointed by the CCSD Board of Directors December 20, 2011 to fill Director De Micco's vacant term through November 2012. 

Muril Clift, Director
Muril Clift served as Board president for year 2011. He was appointed to the Board on March 6, 2008 and elected to the Board in November 2008 for a four-year term. He is the former President of the Cambria Lions Club, the former District 2 Representative on the SLOCOG Citizens Transportation Committee, and was Chairman of the Cambria Citizens Advisory Committee for Emergency Medical Services.  His professional background includes more than 41 years in the insurance industry.  He has been a Cambria resident since 1997. He serves on the following CCSD Ad Hoc Committees: Organizational Transition Plan for CCSD, Future Reorganization of the CCSD Fire Department. He was elected to LAFCO San Luis Obispo County 2008-1012. He was elected to SDRMA for term 2010-2013.

Gail Robinette
Gail Robinette was appointed to the CCSD Board December 20, 2011 to fill former Director De Micco's term through November 2012.  She has served on the Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS) Commission for the last six years, served on the Buildout Reduction Finance Committee, Citizens Committee for SLO Land Conservancy Lot Transfer to CCSD, NCAC alternate for Park Hill (member of the Land Use Committee). Her experience in leadership roles include service in school district management positions at the district and site level and business ownership of SEE Results, an educational professsional developement group that specializes in content expertise support for teachers of mathematics and English language arts and providing assistance to district and site administrators to help them effect changes to improve student performance in California schools.
 
Allan MacKinnon
Allan MacKinnon was elected to Board President December 15, 2011 for year 2012 and served as Vice President for year 2011. Allan MacKinnon was elected to the CCSD Board in November 2008.  He serves on the following CCSD Ad Hoc Committees: Finance, Cambria Community Healthcare District (CCHD)/CCSD Co-Location Project. Mr. MacKinnon has served on a district school board for six years and the North Coast Advisory Council (NCAC) for two years. His professional background includes President of a major material handling corporation and Founder and CEO of an electric robotic vehicle company.  He has been a Cambria resident since 2000.
 
Jim Bahringer
Jim Bahringer was elected to the CCSD Board in November 2010. He serves on the following CCSD Ad Hoc Committees: CCSD Facilities and SCADA Project-Phase 1 and the North Coast Advisory Council (NCAC) Liaison. His professional background includes businessman and college professor. He holds a B.S. US Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD, MBA candidate San Jose State. He is a member of NCAC, Cambria Lions, and American Legion.
 
Michael Thompson
Michael Thompson was elected to serve as Vice President for year 2011. He was elected to the CCSD Board in November 2010. He serves on the following CCSD Ad Hoc Committees: CCSD Fee Schedule, Future Reorganization of the CCSD Fire Department, CCSD Facilities, and Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Liaison. He earned a B.A. in Journalism and a M.A. in Educational Psychology at California State University, Northridge. He served with Naval Security Group during Vietnam Era, Criminal Justice Director in Los Angeles, Chairman of County Narcotics and the California State Drug Program Advisory Board. He is involved in numerous community activities: Director of Cambria Chamber of Commerce, past Chair of PROS, and sits on the NCAC. He is a member of American Legion, past member of County of SLO Economic Advisory Committee. He is a member of Fiscalini Ranch Preserve, Elephant Seals, and Historical Society Friends organizations.
