On December 2, 2021, the Cambria Firefighters and Cambria Ambulance emergency responders held an Introduction to CPR training for the Cambria Leffingwell High School students at the Cambria Fire Department. Students learned the basic skills for performing CPR until emergency responders can arrive.
On November 18, 2021, Cambria Firefighters visited Cambria Grammar School students and educated them about fire safety. They discussed fire prevention tips, showed students what a firefighter looks and sounds like in their personal protective equipment, reminded students about dialing 911 for emergencies and demonstrated stop, drop & roll. On November 12, 2021, Cambria Firefighters visited Cambria Grammar School students and educated them about fire safety.
This year’s theme "Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety" covers the different sounds alarms make, and the action needed based on that sound, which is critical to preventing injury and death from fire. The theme pays particular attention to smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms and alert devices that meet the needs of people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
