CalPERS Health Insurance Open Enrollment

2022 Health Insurance Premium Rates for IAFF, MCE & SEIU - Revised 10/11/2021

As a CalPERS health benefits member, employees have the option each fall to make changes to their health plan for the following calendar year. CalPERS Health Insurance Open Enrollment started on September 20, 2021 and ends on October 15, 2021.

Anthem Blue Cross Select HMO is listed on the CalPERS 2022 Regional Health Premiums for San Luis Obispo Region 2. After further review, it is not available in San Luis Obispo or Cambria’s zip code. As a result of Anthem Blue Cross Select HMO being unavailable to our employees, Blue Shield Trio HMO has been selected as the District's 2022 lowest cost plan. This means that the District will contribute 85% of the Blue Shield Trio HMO plan amounts of $631 to $1641, depending on benefit selection of employee only to family coverage. The District selected this plan in an effort to slowly work toward the lowest plan available to CCSD employees and not create a significant financial impact. IAFF MOU Section 24.B. and SEIU MOU Section 30.A. include language related to the lowest cost plan and the District has the discretion to opt for a higher level plan.
