Megan Gerseny
Megan, a relative newcomer to California, attended Dickinson College in Pennsylvania, graduating with a B.S. in Geology. She made her way westward when she attended Washington State University for graduate school, earning a M.S. in Isotope Geochemistry and Igneous Petrology. Both her undergraduate and graduate theses studied the volcanoes of the Aleutian Islands, AK.
She has since worked as a Geoscience Technician in Oil & Gas in Colorado and as a Staff Scientist in Environmental Consulting in New Mexico. After she moved to California, she was lucky enough to spend a year working at a winery before she landed a position in the Building and Planning Department for the City of Paso Robles. Megan joined the CCSD in October 2020.
When not working Megan tries to spend as much time as possible abroad. She volunteered in Nicaragua for three months, and spent five months in Panama, Costa Rica and Colombia. She studied abroad in New Zealand and hopes to add most countries and all the continents to her travel list, especially if the rocks or the wine are good!
