Candidate List as of August 9, 2024

The Cambria Community Services District was scheduled to have its district election on November 5, 2024, for:

• Three Directors, term beginning 12/6/2024 and ending 12/1/2028

As of the 83rd day prior to the election, three candidates have filed a declaration of Candidacy for three positions. The Clerk-Recorder’s Office did not receive any petitions requesting the district election to be held in the district. Accordingly, a district election will not be held for these positions. The three candidates are as follows:

• Karen A. Dean – Term 12/06/2024 – 12/1/2028
• Harry Farmer - Term 12/06/2024 – 12/1/2028
• Tom Gray - Term 12/06/2024 – 12/1/2028

Pursuant to Elections Code section 10515(b), the Board of Supervisors will appoint the three candidates listed above no later than November 5, 2024. After the Board of Supervisors has made the appointment(s), our office will send out the Certificate of Appointment and Oath of Office forms to this/these candidate(s).

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a governing board member election will be held in the above-named district on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, for the purpose of electing Directors as submitted by the District: 

The Elections Division of the County Clerk-Recorder’s Office, located at 1055 Monterey Street, Suite D-120, San Luis Obispo, urges interested candidates to call our office at ( 805) 781-5228 to make an appointment to come in and obtain the Declaration of Candidacy.

The nomination period opens Monday, July 15, 2024, and will close at 5:00 PM, Friday, August 9, 2024. If the incumbent officer has not filed by August 9, 2024, the nomination period will be extended until Wednesday, August 14, 2024, for any person other than the incumbent to file for the office.

In the event there are no nominees or an insufficient number of nominees for each elective office, and a petition for an election is not filed with the elections official within the time period prescribed by law, appointment shall be made pursuant to Elections Code Section 10515. 

On June 20, 2024, the CCSD Board of Directors adopted Resolution 18-2024, requesting the consolidation of the CCSD governing Board election with the November 5, 2024, Presidential General Election, and Resolution 19-2024, adopting regulations for candidates for elective office pertaining to, and costs of, candidate statements submitted to the voters at the November 5, 2024, Presidential General Election.
