Water Plans, Programs & Studies
The CCSD is required to plan for catastrophic events such as extreme droughts, source water contamination, power outages, and infrastructure failure such as burst pipes, sanitary sewer overflows, and other emergency situations. In addition, the District prioritizes plans and programs related to water supply reliability, water conservation and efficiency, and demand management. These plans and programs are detailed below. You can also learn more by subscribing to the CCSD's various mailing lists, such as Water Conservation, Affordable Housing, and Annual Water Quality Report.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) Report 98-4061 describes the Santa Rosa and San Simeon groundwater basins and the basins' hydrogeology, water quality, and many other metrics.
USGS Report 98-6041The California Department of Water Resources Bulletin No. 118 identifies the two sources serving CCSD as the San Simeon and Santa Rosa groundwater basins, numbers 3-35 and 3-36, respectively.
