As a fifth-generation local from the south coast of San Luis Obispo County and a 2003 graduate of San Luis Obispo High School, Craig embarked on his Fire Service career as a Paid Call Firefighter for Avila Valley Fire Station in 2005. Following obtaining his Emergency Medical Technician Certification and graduation from the Fire Academy in 2006, he gained extensive experience and local knowledge during his tenure as a seasonal firefighter with the CAL FIRE - San Luis Obispo Unit, a role he held until 2014. His understanding of the local Cambria community was further deepened through his time working at Station 10.

In 2014, he was given the opportunity to enhance the health and well-being of others through becoming a gym owner; he fully committed and devoted himself to this new role. The transition from firefighter to business owner was extremely difficult due to his passion for the fire service; however, his time as a business owner was invaluable in his growth, both professionally and personally.

In 2019, after missing the Fire Service dearly, he was lucky enough to end up in Cambria, taking the position of Reserve Firefighter. In that same year, Craig was named 2019 Firefighter of the Year for the Cambria Community Services District Fire Department by the full-time staff and his peers. Shortly thereafter, he was hired by Atascadero State Hospital as a Firefighter/Engineer, where he continued learning and growing. In his time at ASH, he earned his FF2 and Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator California State Fire Marshal Professional certifications and was selected for officer-in-charge (OIC) development training.

Craig currently resides in Atascadero with his wife, Crissy, his three adult stepchildren, and two dogs. He is truly thrilled to become a part of the Cambria Fire Department team. Craig greatly admires the department's commitment not just to daily emergency services but also to caring deeply and being an integral part of the community. Becoming a member of a group that embodies professionalism, embraces progress, and radiates compassion is a dream come true for Craig. He is eager to make a meaningful contribution, learn, and grow in a team that echoes his core values of honesty, loyalty, and heart.

Craig was appointed as Fire Captain in January 2024.
