IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR LODGE HILL RESIDENTS: CANCELLATION OF BOIL WATER NOTICE
10/14/2026 at 2:50 p.m.

On October 13, 2026, Cambria Community Services District completed critical water infrastructure work,  resulting in the need for a precautionary boil water notice. You were notified of the need to boil/disinfect all tap water used for drinking and cooking  purposes.

The Cambria CSD Water System in conjunction with the State Water Resources Control Board, and San Luis Obispo County Public Health has determined that, through abatement of the health hazard and comprehensive testing of the water, your water is safe to drink. It is no longer necessary to boil your tap water or for you to consume bottled water.

Work to replace the pressure-reducing equipment has been successfully completed, and water service has been restored to all affected areas. No additional water service interruptions are anticipated as part of this project.

Following completion of the work, Water Department staff thoroughly flushed the affected portions of the distribution system and confirmed appropriate disinfectant residual levels in the field. Bacteriological water quality samples were then collected from multiple locations throughout the affected area and submitted to a certified laboratory for analysis.

Laboratory results are expected to be received tomorrow. Once the results are received, the District will review them in coordination with the State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water, to determine when the precautionary boil water notice can be lifted.

The precautionary boil water notice remains in effect at this time. Residents and businesses within the affected area should continue following the boil water notice instructions until the District issues an official notice that the advisory has been lifted.

The District appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation while this important infrastructure work was completed.

Please check the District’s website for additional updates.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR LODGE HILL RESIDENTS: PLANNED WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION FOLLOWED BY PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 13, 2026

The Cambria Community Services District (CCSD) will be conducting critical water system work that will require a temporary interruption of water service to customers in the affected Lodge Hill area beginning Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at approximately 8:00 am.

Following restoration of water service, CCSD will issue a Precautionary Boil Water Notice for affected customers as a precaution due to the temporary loss of water pressure during the planned shutdown.

Press Release

Planned Water Service Interruption

The planned water service interruption is necessary while CCSD replaces aging pressure-reducing equipment located on Ellis Avenue in Cambria. Completing this work requires a full shutdown of the two highest-pressure zones served by the Fiscalini Tank.

Water service will be temporarily shut off beginning at approximately 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, and is anticipated to continue until approximately 5:00 p.m.

Water service will be restored as soon as the necessary work is completed. The actual restoration time may vary depending on field conditions and the progress of construction.

Precautionary Boil Water Notice

Following restoration of water service, affected customers will be placed under a Precautionary Boil Water Notice.

The temporary loss of water pressure associated with the planned shutdown may allow contaminants to enter the distribution system. As a precaution, customers in the affected area should not drink tap water or use tap water for food preparation unless it has first been boiled, or use commercially bottled water, until CCSD officially lifts the notice.

The Precautionary Boil Water Notice will remain in effect until CCSD determines that the water is safe and provides official notice that the advisory has been lifted.

Customers should not assume that the boil water notice has been lifted simply because water service has been restored.

What You Should Do

Boil all tap water used for:

  • Drinking
  • Brushing teeth
  • Making ice
  • Preparing food and beverages
  • Preparing baby formula

Bring water to a full rolling boil for at least one (1) minute. Allow the water to cool before using it. If you are unable to boil water, use commercially bottled water.

How Long Will the Notice Remain in Effect?

The boil water notice will remain in effect until the CCSD, in coordination with the appropriate public health and drinking water regulatory agencies, determines that the water is safe for consumption.

Do not resume normal use of tap water for drinking or food preparation until CCSD officially announces that the boil water notice has been lifted.

The CCSD will provide updates as additional information becomes available.
