Neighborhood Response Group

Know Your Neighbors
The most important step you can take to get through times of disaster and stress is to connect.

Whether it's wildfire, earthquake, power outages, or a medical emergency—knowing your neighbors can save lives. When neighbors connect, everyone becomes stronger, safer, and more prepared. That’s why the Cambria CSD Fire Department supports Neighborhood Response Groups (NRGs) throughout our community.

What is a Neighborhood Response Group?

A Neighborhood Response Group (NRG) is a small, local network of households who plan together to respond effectively in a disaster. It can be:

  • As small as 2 households
  • Or as large as 10 to 20 households
  • Located on the same street, cul-de-sac, or apartment floor

The key is to make it work for you and your neighbors. Every group is unique—what matters is communication, connection, and a shared commitment to look out for one another.

Why Join a Group?

Everyone has something to contribute. Your group can:

  • Identify who may need help in a disaster (e.g., elderly, people with disabilities, those without transportation)
  • Coordinate resources (e.g., generators, tools, medical skills)
  • Stay informed and ready to act together before, during, and after emergencies

Being part of a Neighborhood Response Group means you're not alone when it matters most.
