Wildfire Preparedness Event 10/9/2021

ARE YOU PREPARED!

The Cambria Fire Safe Focus Group will hold a Wildfire Preparedness Event on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Cambria Veteran’s Hall. The event will have speakers and exhibitors to inform the community on how to prepare for a wildfire in Cambria. The event will be a combination of a live and virtual event so you may attend in person or from your computer. The live event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end around 1;00 p.m. A mask will be required for all attending the live indoor event.

The virtual and live events will feature speakers with knowledge on fire insurance, home hardening, and evacuation planning. Below is the agenda of speakers.

10:05 Homeowner’s Insurance – Get the Facts Now - Sally Westlake

10:50 Update on evacuation planning - Chief Hollingsworth

11:00 Home Hardening - Corky Sanchez

11:15 SIM Table, SLOFSC Update - Dan Turner

Sally Westlake will cover what homeowners need to know, how to find out what your insurance does and does not cover, where to go for help, how to avoid being scammed and what CDI is doing to help consumers. Sally Westlake is an Associate Insurance Compliance Officer in the Community Relations & Outreach Branch of the California Department of Insurance.

Exhibitors include Cambria Emergency Response Team (CERT), CAL FIRE, Home Hardening, and Cambria Community Healthcare District.
