The Cambria CSD Fire Department had the honor and opportunity to appoint and swear-in our newest Fire Captain at today’s Cambria CSD Board Meeting. We are fortunate to be able to internally promote an experienced and valued member of our department to a leadership position, where he will continue to be an impactful member of the department and community.

Michael Castellanos was born and raised in Cambria and graduated from Coast Union High School. He continues to reside in Cambria with his loving and supportive wife and kids. He started his fire career in Siskiyous County as a Firefighter with Lake Shatina Fire Department. He worked on an ambulance for the Cambria Community Healthcare District from 2012-2017. Additionally, he has some experience working for CAL Fire as a wildland firefighter.

Captain Castellanos has worked for the Cambria CSD Fire Department since 2012 as a Firefighter and was promoted to Fire Engineer in December of 2016. With this promotion, he is assigned as the B-Shift Fire Captain for the fire department and we look forward to his leadership and desire to make his hometown a safer community.
